      Beschreibung

      Eine Kleinstadt mitten im texanischen Nirgendwo, Anfang der fünfziger Jahre: Der Zweite Weltkrieg hat seine Spuren hinterlassen, frustrierte Ölarbeiter und gelangweilte Jugendliche fristen ein trauriges Dasein ohne Perspektive. Allein das örtliche Kino und der Charme des Besitzers Sam bietet den beiden Jungen Sonny und Duane ein bisschen Abwechslung. Als Sam jedoch stirbt und das Kino schließt, versinkt die Stadt langsam in ihrer eigenen Depression.
